HW News
It is 2017, and HealingWoman, begun in 2010, has grown. This year I will update the website to reflect the real-world activities I do, as well as make the blog library easier to navigate, making clear what is literary essay, what relates to health advocacy and medical articles for consumers, and what represents news or real-world activity.
I also invite others who would like to be heard to submit pieces as a guest author. There is no charge and copyright remains yours.
Can I help you? Let me know.

Thought for the Day. Our place in the world.
I took a short walk today in a state forest near us, simply because I saw a sign for it while driving home from an appointment. Nature does not exist for us. It simply exists. It is beautiful. And, I … Continue reading

Essay. Second Thoughts on the Fourth of July.
One president was born on Independence Day, my sixth cousin on my father’s side, Calvin Coolidge. This says nothing about him or me. It speaks about what I feel on the Fourth of July. When I was little, we visited … Continue reading

When I was little, I attended a community supper at church, where everyone sat at three very long tables. I remember my mother and grandmother, but it must not have been for ladies only because of the young man. He … Continue reading

Essay. My Life in Pets. VIII. Tucket, and What he Taught Me.
Today’s calendar saying states the best way to feel better is to help others. Another quoted Robert Frost on difficult times: “The best way out is through.” Both are true. Tucket taught me. I wanted to be a doctor and … Continue reading
