HW News
It is 2017, and HealingWoman, begun in 2010, has grown. This year I will update the website to reflect the real-world activities I do, as well as make the blog library easier to navigate, making clear what is literary essay, what relates to health advocacy and medical articles for consumers, and what represents news or real-world activity.
I also invite others who would like to be heard to submit pieces as a guest author. There is no charge and copyright remains yours.
Can I help you? Let me know.

Essay. Why forgive?
Forgive others, Not because they deserve forgiveness, But because you deserve PEACE. This saying caught me up short, as my grandmother would say: Anger and its long-term companion, bitterness, are incredibly destructive. I’ve known periods where I got so caught … Continue reading

Essay. The fire within
A little while ago I posted on my Facebook page that “You should never look for something external to bring you happiness or peace. You should find both within yourself.” I am far from the first person to realize this … Continue reading

Thought for a gray Winter day
Quiet Saturday here. You don’t realize how much you count on the structure of therapy sessions and meals to get you through the day, until a day like this one comes along. My only therapy session was right after breakfast, … Continue reading

Essay. Forgive and Forget.
When I was a child, my mother and father frequently told us to forgive and forget when we brought up a quarrel or supposed insult at school. I don’t remember many of those quarrels any more, so I must have … Continue reading
